Areas of Expertise

Counselling

When life gets out of balance with constant change and challenge, we can feel overwhelmed. We might be surviving, but sometimes our coping strategies run out and we no longer know what to do. I work to provide a calm, safe place to explore these difficulties.

Psychodynamic Counselling

Psychodynamic therapy is a talking therapy that explores how past experiences, particularly early childhood relationships, shape a person's current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It delves into the unconscious mind and aims to bring unconscious patterns and conflicts into conscious awareness to facilitate personal growth and resolve emotional difficulties

Play Therapy and working with young people

My training to work with young people has widened my approach.  I use a variety of techniques with young people from play therapy to art and other creative activities. Its helpful when working with young people to adapt my approach and meet them where they are.

My Approach

In my approach to counselling, I provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves. I believe in tailoring my techniques to suit each individual's unique needs and fostering a strong therapeutic alliance. By incorporating evidence-based practices and client-centered strategies, I aim to empower clients to navigate their challenges.  Increasing our self awareness and knowing ourselves emotionally can open our eyes to new choices. Being able to make conscious decisions about our lives by responding rather than reacting to situations and people is a key focus of the work.
